How Dividend Changes Are Detected
Every day, GitHub Actions collects full dividend data from Yahoo Finance and saves it as a snapshot file. Before generating a new snapshot, the previous day's data is preserved. Any change in the quarterly dividend amount (recentDividendAmount) between the two files is flagged as a raise or cut. A dividend raise signals a company's financial health and commitment to shareholder returns.
